Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineers execute the design of power and lighting systems involved in building design and construction projects. At dbHMS, we rely on Electrical Engineers to assist Senior Engineers on project-related tasks while they learn and advance their skills. The tasks associated with this position include drafting, calculations, assisting with studies and reports, and designing system components under supervision. Candidates must be able to perform basic drafting, have a B.S. degree in a field related to Electrical Engineering, and a fundamental knowledge of building electrical systems. 


  • Drafting construction documents
  • Read and understand construction documents, floor plans, and equipment details
  • Assist in the design of electrical systems under supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field to Electrical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Basic engineering or construction background


  • Operate computer software such as Microsoft Office programs to perform engineering tasks
  • Operate AutoCAD and Revit
  • Ability to multi-task by working on multiple overlapping projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain professional, polite, and prompt communication
  • Motivated self-starter and fast learner committed to learning on the job and personal self-development


  • Lighting design, low voltage or specialized software skills
  • LEED GA or LEED AP with specialty
