Zero Energy House The project is a 3,000 sf single family home in Chicago with a goal of building a “net zero energy” house. The project involves the use of passive solar systems, geothermal systems, natural ventilation, solar thermal for domestic hot water and heating systems, wind power and photovoltaics for generating on site power. All systems proposed for the building were incorporated into a complex energy model with several iterations to determine the most efficient building configuration and systems. |
