University of Chicago The project is a renovation of reading rooms and additions of a café, computer lab, teaching and learning centers. dbHMS is designing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protections systems to upgrade the existing systems. dbHMS is testing creative alternative air distribution techniques like displacement ventilation and/or chilled beams to provide cooling to the tall historic spaces. Computational Fluid Dynamic studies will be performed to determine the effectiveness of these techniques. |
