LEADERSHIP


Sachin Anand brings over 15 years of diversified design, commissioning, and management experience to the field of engineering, uniting artistry and analytics into a unique approach based upon the client’s needs. He runs his project team with uncompromising quality control at each design phase and strives to maintain the client’s goals with creative design solutions. In addition to his responsibilities at dbHMS, Sachin has been an Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology's College of Architecture since 2008. He is a sought after speaker on topics of sustainability such as, ASHRAE 90.1, Energy Conservation Codes, Energy Modeling, LEED®, and Integrated Design, and has presented these topics to a multitude of audiences. Several of his award-winning projects have been featured in local and national publications. Sachin is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and a LEED® Accredited Professional.


 
 


Vic Avila has over 20 years of experience in the building construction industry involving electrical systems design, engineering, and project management and is well versed in all disciplines at dbHMS. Vic specializes in the design, engineering, and management of electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, security, special systems, peer reviews, and quality control. Additionally, Vic provides construction support, construction estimates, and value engineering services from preliminary conceptual design to final construction punch list, commissioning, and project close-out. He has served a key role on several award winning projects throughout Chicago. 


 
 

Ben Rubach’s background includes management and design of diverse building systems projects. His design expertise includes HVAC, plumbing and fire protection with specialization in medical and laboratory facilities. He has managed cross-functional teams and played key roles in major projects throughout Chicago and across the nation.  At dbHMS, Ben works as a project manager in addition to leading quality, staffing and scheduling procedures. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee and Pennsylvania and is a LEED® Accredited Professional.


 

 

Arvinder Dang is an Associate Principal at dbHMS who leads the East Coast practice in Philadelphia.  She is a senior leader with 15 years of professional and research experience in energy efficient, high performance building design and operation as well as environmentally sustainable urban communities. She works across multiple disciplines—architecture, MEP, and urban planning—integrating and delivering efficient high performing technologies, systems and solutions. Arvinder has worked on numerous sustainable international developments with a strong focus on demand management and clean efficient closed loop infrastructure systems.
